In the 1920s, approximately 60 chapters of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) had spread across Oregon. In 95% of those counties, the majority of the population is white.Īt an estimated population of 23,800 people, Newberg is about 88% white.Īccording to a 2020 population review, the Black population in Newberg is 0.2% of the total population, and the city does have a history of racism - both past and present. ![]() As reported by the New York Times, 40% of counties in the United States participated in some form of racially-focused protest this past summer. These record-breaking numbers represent the expansion of protest from metropolitan areas into rural communities. These numbers, even at some of the lowest estimates, surpass those of the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, making it the largest social movement ever seen in the United States. Like I said at the beginning, the mittens are amazing, especially living in Minnesota, but I would not advise purchasing them online (maybe go to their store instead if you're in Duluth) as the sizing is inconsistent and Customer Service wasn't as helpful as I have experience with other companies I frequent. In May, Newberg locals Jessica Haney and Brie Zimmerman started a Facebook page, “Project ‘I have a Dream,’” and posted weekly places and times for protesters to meet in Newberg. We’ll cover that the seams will hold, the elastic will stay in place, and on the Great Northern Choppers the brass clasp will last and work as long as the mitts hold together. When that time comes, we hope you choose to replace it with another Frost River item. However, if you use anything made from canvas and leather long enough and hard enough, you’ll need to eventually repair it, and sometimes replace it. We stand behind our work and take pride in making good stuff. We guarantee all our reliable softgoods to hold together, that the hardware will do its job, but don’t mistake that for a claim they’ll last forever. But if you wear ‘em like they’re work gloves, expect that they will eventually wear out. The Frost River Guarantee: These mitts and choppers are tough. ![]()
